Safety On board, Video Campaign

The Covid pandemic significantly impacted everyone and everything.
Costa Cruises, like others in tourism, had to quickly reorganize.
Onboard communication became strategically vital, and we faced the challenge of producing extensive content rapidly, relying solely on Motion Graphics without any live footage.
The campaign included numerous videos in six languages.
It was demanding, but seeing our work on the ship’s screens made it all worthwhile.

To bring this video to life, we followed these steps:

  • This project allowed us to delve into the complex world of the cruise industry, where we had to acquire all the necessary know-how.
  • After drafting the scripts, we moved on to the next challenge: designing visuals that could effectively convey the required information while aligning with the company’s brand identity.
  • Once we shared the most suitable visual style with the client, we began animating the videos.
  • Since this was an international project, we worked with a partner company to translate all the scripts and sourced talents for the various voiceovers – one for each language – focusing on finding voices that were both reassuring and authoritative.
  • The final phase was no small feat: we exported nearly hundred videos in eight different languages, a massive undertaking that required precision and clarity.

The client

Costa Crociere is an Italian company and a leader in the cruise industry.
Founded in 1854 in Genoa, it offers sea vacations aboard modern and comfortable ships, with itineraries that reach destinations all around the world.
The company is renowned for its Italian hospitality, high-quality services, and commitment to sustainability.

Working with PlayVideo Factory on customer safety videos for cruise ships during all Covid phases is the kind of experience that makes you wonder: “Are they really going to pull this off?” Spoiler alert: they did, and they did it with flair. Safety regulations were shifting faster than TikTok trends, and we turned into full-on flexibility contortionists. But them? They took all that chaos and turned it into a communication platform that feels effortlessly simple… until you realize there’s a sci-fi-level architecture running underneath. Brilliant, a little crazy, and absolutely unforgettable.
